Basic Training
Basic Obedience is the foundation for a well-behaved dog. It teaches dogs to respond to essential cues and behave appropriately in a variety of situations.
The goal of Basic Obedience Training is to establish communication between the dog and handler, build trust and respect, strengthen the human-dog bond, improve safety, and reduces problem behaviors.
Positive Reinforcement means rewarding good behavior with treats, praise, or toys instead of outdated, harsh, painful, or intimidating methods.
Consistency and repetition are key. Dogs learn best with regular practice and clear expectations. The ideal training environment is in a calm and quiet setting to minimize distractions at first with gradual introductions and new environments as the dog progresses and matures.
A few short, daily practice sessions are better and more effective than infrequent long ones.

Advanced Training
The Advanced course builds on foundational skills enhancing communication and reinforcing obedience in a structured environment. This course focuses on more advanced commands and impulse control to ensure your dog responds reliably in various situations.
Whether you are preparing for more advanced training or seeking to refine your dog’s existing skills, the advanced course offers a comprehensive approach to dog obedience.
Trick Training
Having fun while learning cues beyond the basics.
Trick training is a great interactive, engagement course between you and your dog strengthening bonds that last a lifetime.
Fun, entertaining and impressive tricks you can show off to your friends and family, but more importantly, learning tricks is a great way to improve focus and confidence, while giving your dog both mental and physical stimulation and enrichment. This is so very important for your dog’s development and can help to prevent boredom and destructive behavior.

Testimonials
Thank you for everything you’ve done for Echo, (and for us!). Your patience, knowledge, and consistency has made such a huge difference. It’s been amazing to watch him grow more confident and responsive and we know that progress is thanks to your incredible guidance. We’re especially grateful for all the advise and support you gave us with Echo’s anxiety and all the other stuff we weren’t sure how to handle. You always knew just what to say and do, and you made things feel so much more manageable. Thank you for pouring so much care and heart into helping us. We appreciate you more than words can say and feel lucky to have had you by our side on this journey!
With gratitude, Echo, Clarissa and Andrew
Karen has been an amazing mentor and teacher in my dog training journey. At every twist and turn she has been an amazing resource for translating my dog’s behavior and teaching me how to understand my dog. The best thing about Karen is her versatility! Not only did she train my dog advanced obedience, she also trained my dog in advanced trick training.
I would recommend Karen to anyone who is looking for a better relationship with their dog!

Karen, Please accept this small note of thanks in return for a multitude of good advice & patience you gave me toward good dog behaviors. Through patience & assuring myself to my two dog’s, good behavior is slowly coming into view; not all at once, but little by little. As we progress, the goal looks larger & the outcome looks brighter. The longer I train them & myself, the more new things I learn about Callie & Jersey.
Many Thanks,
Nathan T.
With the arrival of my 6 month, high energy rescue pup, Charlie, training was a top priority. Karen came highly recommended as an experienced trainer. Karen uses positive reinforcement as the foundation for her training. We collaborated on a 8 week training plan for Charlie and me. The results have been impressive. We are in the planning stages for training for Mattie, a 6 year old rescue who recently joined the family.

Karen is one of the best trainers that I have ever experienced. She trained my live-wire Jack Russell, Dachshund mix, in a short time, and my dog did Amazing. She is a wonderful trainer with many insights and training ability. You made an exceptional mark on my heart. You are an amazing person.

I give PAWS-itive K9 Obedience Training five paws! Karen is a gifted and knowledgable trainer. She is professional and patient with both your dog and you! She helped me when my pittie was a puppy learning how to be a “good girl” with all the basics (in 2020) and over the past five years, I have continued to have her work with me and my dog as various issues came up, or just as refreshers. She agreed to work with us both at our home and out in social settings with myriad distractions. Just a few months ago, I needed her expertise again as my dog was scared and refused to use a ramp as she recovered from surgery. I knew exactly who to call. Within one session Karen had my girl using the ramp like a pro, and taught me how to sustain the practice. Karen’s modeling and guidance has always been spot on. She knows dog behavior, reads all the cues, and knows how to translate it for you so you can be an awesome dog leader. I PAWS-itively recommend Karen as your go-to trainer!

In March, I rescued a 3.5 year old Dalmation. She had lived for 3 years in a crate. I have trained 2 other Dalmations from puppies so they were easier to train. When I brought Sadie home she was difficult to train due to her traumatic life. I needed help and a friend suggested Karen. She came and assessed Sadies behavior and came up with a 6-week plan for obedience and confidence building. Every Friday Karen came to work with Sadie and also to teach me how to help her. Karen uses positive reinforcement and treats to teach the desired behaviors. I worked through the week with her instructions. Sadie is still a work in progress with improving confidence but is much better behaved than when I adopted her. KAREN WAS A LIFE SAVOR
